Gauri Rao and Abhinav Surana join Tata Sons GC Shuva Mandal’s team

Gauri Rao and Abhinav Surana have joined Tata Sons as Senior Legal Counsel. They will both be part of Group General Counsel Shuva Mandal’s legal team.

Abhinav Surana, who had left Juris Corp in July this year, has joined Tata in Mumbai, while Gauri Rao will work in Delhi.

Gauri graduated from Government Law College, Mumbai in 2003. She also has a BCL from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom (2007). Prior to joining Tata Group, she was working at Herbert Smith Freehills. She has also previously worked at Amarchand Mangaldas.

Abhinav will focus mostly on M&A work. He had joined Juris Corp in 2016, prior to which he was working with Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. Abhinav is dual qualified to practice in India and England & Wales. He had joined Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas in Mumbai after completing his training contract with Herbert Smith in London.

Shuva Mandal was appointed as Tata Group General Counsel with effect from July this year, and is looking to expand his legal team.
