IDFC Alternatives GC Vinod Joseph joins Argus as Partner

Argus Partners has hired former IDFC Alternatives General Counsel Vinod Joseph as a Partner at its Mumbai office.

Vinod Joseph is a 1998 graduate of National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore and holds an LL.M. from London School of Economics.  He brings with him more than two decades of experience in the field of corporate law and private equity.

He initially worked at AZB & Partners, before moving to BNP Paribas, and then to DSP Merril Lynch. In 2001, he joined Dua Associates, after which he moved Lawrence Graham LLP. Later in 2006, he moved to Reed Smith Richards Butler LLP, before joining Kotak Mahindra as Vice President – Legal in 2007. In 2010, he moved back to India and joined Dua Associates as a Partner.

In May 2015, he joined Brand Capital as Head – Legal. A year later, he joined IDFC Alternatives as General Counsel.

Commenting on his move to Argus Partners, the firm’s Managing Partner Krishnava Dutt said in a press release,

We have recently  expanded the Banking & Finance and the Disputes Practice of the Firm. Expanding on the corporate practice was a natural corollary. I am delighted to have Vinod on board to deepen the Firms’ corporate  practice especially in the private equity and private investment funds space.”
