IndusLaw hires TMI’s Ray Vikram Nath to strengthen Japan Practice

IndusLaw recently hired Ray Vikram Nath from Japanese firm TMI Associates to further strengthen its Japan practice. Vikram Nath has joined the firm’s Delhi office with effect from October 2015.

Speaking to Bar & Bench, IndusLaw Delhi Partner Gaurav Dani said that the firm has been advising a lot of big companies in Japan, which remains a very important business partner with India. He added,

 “Vikram brings in deep knowledge of the Japanese market and culture and we hope to strengthen our Japanese practice with his expertise. He will help us penetrate more deeply into the Japanese market. We are very happy to have him on board.”

A graduate of Symbiosis Law School, Vikram also holds an LL.M. in M&A and Antitrust from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, USA.

Before joining TMI in Tokyo, Vikram Nath was working at Dua Associates in Delhi. He has previously worked at Kochhar & Co, Chamber of Brijesh Kalappa and Chitale & Chitale Partners.

While working with TMI Associates in Tokyo, Vikram Nath advised Japanese corporations on transactions and general corporate matters related to Indian laws. He has also been involved with advising on Indian labour issues in relation to the Japanese companies established in India.

In 2012, Kochhar & Co was the first law firm to obtain a foreign registered lawyer’s licence to open an office in Tokyo.
