IndusLaw Partner Tanu Banerjee is joining Khaitan & Co as a Partner in its Technology, Media & Telecom (TMT) practice at Mumbai.

Confirming the development, Khaitan & Co Executive Director Amar Sinhji said,

"She will be a great addition to our niche TMT practice. We foresee tremendous growth in the TMT practice with the impact that the COVID-19 crisis has had on the telecom (and related technology & media) industry. There is always a silver lining to every dark cloud! Our TMT practice, like all other practices, operates as a national practice and Tanu’s joining will increase our national footprint substantially."

Banerjee is a graduate of Symbiosis Law School, Pune. She has previously worked at Reliance Infrastructure, DSK Legal, and Wadia Ghandy & Co before moving to IndusLaw in 2017. She was made Partner at IndusLaw in 2019.

Banerjee's exit follows a hiring spree of sorts seen at IndusLaw. In the space of a fortnight, Shashi Mathews joined the firm from PDS Legal as a Partner at its Delhi office, former JSA lawyer Unnati Agrawal joined the Competition practice in Delhi, and former Link Legal Associate Partner Pratyush Khurana joined as a Partner in the Corporate practice at Delhi.
