JSA makes 4 Salaried Partners; Mary Julie John, Arpita Garg, Vishal Anand and Kannan Rahul

J. Sagar Associates has today promoted four of its Senior Associates to retained partnership effective from April 1, 2015, confirmed Managing Partner Berjis Desai.

The four new partners are Mary Julie John in Bangalore, Arpita Garg in Gurgaon, Vishal Anand in Delhi and Kannan Rahul from Mumbai.

Desai commented,

“We are now very conscious that we elevate Senior Associates to become a Retained Partner only if we believe that there is some potential in the the Retained Partner to ultimately become Equity Partner one day.”

Mary specializes in the areas of Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Finance, Commercial Contracts and Corporate Real Estate. She joined JSA in 2009 prior to which she was working at M&C Partners. She started her career at AZB & Partners. She also holds an LL.M. from University College London.

Arpita practices in the areas of Banking & Finance and General Corporate Commercial. A graduate of Symbiosis Law School, she initially worked at ICICI Bank after which she joined JSA in 2010.

Vishal’s practice ranges from Regulatory to General Corporate Commercial and covers Electricity and Competition law. He joined JSA in 2011, prior to which he was working at Trilegal. He has previously worked at HSA Advocates, NDPL and Sen Associates. He is a graduate of Delhi University.

Rahul recently joined the firm from ICICI Bank as an Of Counsel. He is part of the firm’s Banking & Finance team and works with Banking & Finance Partner Dina Wadia. A graduate of National Law School of India University, Bangalore, he started his with career with ICICI Bank in Mumbai.

The firm has also promoted Mahadev Prakash as Of Counsel in the Bangalore office.

JSA recently made eight Equity Partners across its Delhi, Gurgaon, Bombay and Bangalore offices, taking the total number of Equity Partners to 33.

The new Equity Partners are Amitabh Kumar, Anupam Verma, Divyanshu Pandey, Sidharrth Shankar, Rupinder Malik, Vikram Raghani, Gerald Manoharan and Dheeraj Nair.
