Juris Corp Equity Partner Mustafa Motiwala has resigned from the firm, three years after he had merged his practice with the firm. In June 2011, Juris Corp merged with Motiwala’s firm, AM Law, with Motiwala joining the firm as an Equity Partner.

Motiwala, who qualified as a Bombay Incorporated Law Society solicitor in 1996, has over 20 years of experience in commercial law and is also a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators.

At Juris Corp, he was overseeing the firm’s Corporate Commercial, Dispute Resolution, IPR, Real Estate and Media and Entertainment practice. Prior to setting up his own practice AM Law in 2007, he was working with Dua Associates as Partner for about three years.

Last year, Hufriz Wadia, who was handling the firm’s Chennai office, had resigned to join Kochhar & Co. as a Partner.

Juris Corp Managing Partner H Jayesh confirmed Motiwala’s resignation but declined to attribute any reasons for the departure while Motiwala was not available for comment at the time of going to print.
