The March 7 event in New Delhi will focus on gender diversity in arbitration and leadership within the legal profession.

Bar & Bench

The Indian Council of Arbitration (ICA) will host a symposium on the theme “Where Women Lead, Justice Follows” on March 7, 2026, at the Federation House, New Delhi.

The event aims to focus on gender diversity in leadership within the legal profession and the broader dispute resolution ecosystem. It will bring together members of the judiciary, senior advocates, corporate leaders, and arbitration practitioners.

Venue: Room No.112, 1 Floor, Federation House, Tansen Marg, New Delhi-110 001

Guest speakers include:

Judges

  • Justice BV Nagarathna, Judge, Supreme Court of India

  • Justice Mini Pushkarna, Judge, Delhi High Court

Senior Advocates

  • Senior Advocate Pinky Anand; Judge, Bahrain International Commercial Court and former Additional Solicitor General of India

  • Senior Advocate Geeta Luthra, Vice President, ICA

  • Senior Advocate Shirin Khajuria

Other dignitaries:

  • Poonam Sharma, National President, FICCI FLO

  • Arun Chawla, Director General, ICA

  • Ruhi Paul, Professor and Registrar, NLU Delhi

  • Sujatha Balachander, General Counsel, EY India

  • Mehak Oberoi, Legal Head (Hydro–APAC), GE Vernova

The event seeks to address the continuing underrepresentation of women in leadership roles across corporate and legal institutions.

While women’s participation in the workforce has increased in recent years, representation in decision-making positions remains limited. The legal sector reflects a similar trend, with significantly lower representation of women in constitutional courts compared to the district judiciary.

Through the event, ICA aims to promote dialogue on mentorship, institutional best practices, and structural reforms to enhance women’s leadership in arbitration and the legal profession.

The event is envisioned as a largely women-led and women-attended platform, reinforcing ICA’s commitment to diversity within its governing structures and arbitral tribunals.
