Justice Ghulam Mohammed passes away at 67

Former Acting Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, Justice Ghulam Mohammed passed away following a heart attack on Thursday.

Both the Bar and the Bench of the Telangana and Anhdhra Pradesh High Court , remembered Justice Mohammed fondly .

While the Advocate General of Telangana D Prakash Reddy  said that he was a very humble human being , who treated both senior and junior members of the bar with courtesy, his Andhra Pradesh counterpart D.Srinivas said that his passing was not just a bereavement for his family , but for the legal fraternity as a whole.

Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Rangnathan , who read out a citation described Justice Mohammed as a “devout and unassuming human being”.

The 67 year old Justice Mohammed, who served as a Judge of the High Court for 12 years between 2000 and 2012 , was a sitting Member of The Vamsadhara Water Disputes Tribunal .

He joined the Bar in 1976, and served as an Assistant Government Pleader, and subsequently as a Government Pleader between 1982 and 1999.

He represented several departments including, Finance and Planning, Labour, Employment and Training, and Women & Child Welfare.
