Dr. OV Nandimath has been appointed as Vice-Chancellor of the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata.

Dr. Nandimath takes over the role from Dr. NK Chakrabarti, who has held the post since 2019.

The WBNUJS Executive Council, constituted earlier this year, has appointed Nandimath to the post.

In September, NUJS students had gone on protest demanding the resignation of Dr. Chakrabarti.

Dr. Nandimath is presently a faculty member at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) and has previously held the role of Registrar at NLSIU. He was also visiting faculty at Warwick University and Cardiff University.

He is a Chevening scholar and has been a Fulbright Fellow and Stegner Fellow to the University of Utah.
