Collegium recommends appointment of Justice Rajesh Bindal as Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court

Currently, Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari is serving as the acting Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court while Justice Bindal is serving as acting Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court.

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of Justice Rajesh Bindal as the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court.

Currently, Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari is serving as the Acting Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court while Justice Bindal is serving as acting Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court.

Justice Bindal was born on April 16, 1961 in Haryana and completed his LL.B from Kurukshetra University in 1985. He started practicing at High Court of Punjab & Haryana the same year and was elevated as a judge of High Court of Punjab & Haryana on March 22, 2006.

He was later transferred to Jammu & Kashmir High Court and then to Calcutta High Court where he is currently serving as the acting Chief Justice.
