Several lawyers detained earlier today by the Delhi Police for taking part in protests called by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) have been released after the intervention of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta.

Messages circulating among lawyers had claimed that around 100 advocates were detained from outside the Supreme Court and taken to Yamuna Sports Complex.

Earlier today, the SCBA had passed a resolution seeking Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant's urgent intervention in the matter. The Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association (SCAORA) also passed a similar resolution seeking urgent action from CJI Kant.

It is now learnt that the lawyers have been released.
