Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani nominated to Rajya Sabha today

Jethmalani has been nominated by the President under Article 80 of the Constitution for his expertise in the legal field.

Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani has been nominated to the Rajya Sabha on Monday by the President Ram Nath Govind for his expertise in the legal field under Article 80 of the Constitution of India.

Jethmalani, son of late Ram Jethmalani, completed his Bachelor's degree from St Xavier's college and his Masters of Arts from Oxford University.

Jethmalani was designated 'Senior Advocate' in the year 2004.

He has appeared in several important cases in the Supreme Court as well as several other High Courts of the country.

Jethmalani has appeared in several high profile cases, some of which include Priyamvada Birla case, where he represented Birla, Maruti Udyog case trial where he represented Harshad Mehta and most recently in the Param Bir Singh petitions, where he is representing Singh.
