Supreme Court Collegium recommends appointment of two new judges to Chhattisgarh High Court

The Chhattisgarh High Court is currently functioning with 14 judges as against its sanctioned strength of 22, a vacancy position of 8.

The Supreme Court Collegium has approved the proposal to elevate one advocate and one judicial officer as judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court.

The lawyer recommended is Sachin Singh Rajput and the judicial officer recommended is Deepak Kumar Tiwari.

The decision was taken in a Collegium meeting held on September 1, 2021.
