Luthra promotes Managing Associates, Anirban Bhattacharya, Lokesh Shah to Partnership; Four Managing Associates made “Partners-Designate”

Luthra & Luthra Law Offices celebrated the commencement of its Silver Jubilee year on July 19, 2014 at the JW Marriott Hotel, New Delhi with Harish Salve as the Chief Guest.

At the event, the firm announced this year’s promotions with two Managing Associates, Anirban Bhattacharya and Lokesh Shah being made Partners.

Anirban, who is a graduate of ILS Law College, Pune, joined Luthra in 2006 prior to which he was working at Paras Kuhad & Associates.

Lokesh is based in Mumbai and is part of the tax team. He joined Luthra in 2012 prior to which he was working at BMR & Associates.

This time around, the firm has created another level between Managing Associate and Partner, that of Partner-Designate.

Managing Associates Abdullah Hussain, Ashish Prasad, Koshy John and Vasudev Dibbur have been made Partner-Designate. Speaking to Bar & Bench, Rajiv Luthra says this has been done looking at the performance of various individuals across levels, describing the new designation as a ‘Partner in Watch’.

Senior Associate Kedar Sharma has been promoted as an Advisor in the firm’s policy practice as a special promotion.

The firm has also promoted 22 of its Senior Associates to Managing Associate level and 9 of its Associates to Senior Associate level.

Aditya Periwal, Ankush Mahajan, Aneek Bangabash, Divya Vig, Karan Mitroo, Mrigha Solanki, Pulkit Sharma, Ravi Dubey, Rohit Raghavan, Saurabh Tiwari, Shikhar Kacker, Siddharth Srivastava, Surya Bala, Tulika Sen, Yohan Balan, Shiv Sapra, Anant Garg, Chethana Deepak, Kanika Chaudhary Nayyar, Mumtaz Bhalla, K. Sumalatha Kanoj and Wasim Beg have been promoted to Managing Associate level.

Abhiroop Lahiri, Ashish Pareek, Hina Doon, Reshma Vaidya, Neha Gulati, Anupam Kishore Sinha, Ashish Chandra, Cauveri Birbal and Kapil Madan have been made Senior Associates.

The evening also saw the announcement of the firm’s annual awards. Partner Gayatri Roy was awarded the Managing Partner Solitaire Award. The year’s Best Team award was shared jointly by the Corporate Structuring & Regulatory team and the Direct Tax team.
