Centre notifies appointment of Senior Advocate Manoj Kumar Ohri as Delhi HC judge

The Central government has cleared the appointment of advocate Manoj Kumar Ohri as a judge of the Delhi High Court.

Ohri’s name was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on September 4 this year. His name was recommended along with the names of advocates Jyoti Singh, Prateek Jalan, Anup Jairam Bhambhani and Sanjeev Narula.

The Centre had, on October 15, cleared the names of all of them except Ohri.

The Centre has now gone ahead and cleared Ohri’s name.

The notification issued today states,

“In the exercise of the powers conferred by clause 1 of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri. Manoj Kumar Ohri as a Judge of the Delhi High Court with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.”
