Maruti Suzuki gets its first woman General Counsel, Manjaree Chowdhary

Former GE Power General Counsel Manjaree Chowdhary has recently joined Maruti Suzuki India Limited as General Counsel.

She is the first woman General Counsel at Maruti Suzuki. Chowdhary has about 20 years of experience working as in-house counsel and a law firm lawyer.

A graduate of Punjab University, Chowdhary also holds an LL.M. from University of London. Before joining Genpact in 2001, she worked with Dua Associates for about three years.

She worked at Genpact for about four years, after which she move to GE – Plastics (now SABIC) as Vice President – Legal Affairs and Compliance. In 2009, she moved to GE- Healthcare as General Counsel. In 2016, she was elevated to take up the role of General Counsel at GE Power.
