NLSIU faculty, Prof VS Elizabeth to be next Vice Chancellor of TNNLU, Trichy

Professor VS Elizabeth is set to be appointed the next Vice Chancellor of the Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU), Trichy.

We have reached out to VS Elizabeth for comment.

Professor Elizabeth has been a member of the permanent faculty at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore. She joined NLSIU as a faculty member in 1991, prior to which she worked as a lecturer in History in three colleges in Bangalore. 

She did her MA in History in 1984 from the Bangalore University, following which she obtained a PhD in 1995 from the Mangalore University. She went on to complete her LLB from the Bangalore University in 1997. Her academic qualifications also include having completed certificate courses in Spanish from the Bangalore University and in counselling skills from the Montfort College, Bangalore University. 

She has numerous publications to her credit, featuring themes of Gender, Feminism, History and Justice. 

Professor Elizabeth is slated to take over the post of Vice Chancellor of TNNLU from Dr (Prof) Kamala Sankaranwho will complete her five year term this month. In view of her impending end of term, the NLU had invited applications for the post of Vice Chancellor in October.
