NUALS Vice-Chancellor Dr. KC Sunny injured after elephant attacks jeep

The team members were trying to flee from the elephant when they were injured. Dr. Sunny has been admitted to a hospital in Perinthalmanna.

Vice Chancellor of National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Professor Dr. KC Sunny suffered injuries on Saturday while fleeing from an elephant which attacked the jeep in which he was travelling.

According to a news report, the incident happened when Dr. Sunny along with a team of eight was returning from a forest area where they had gone to assess the progress of a project involving education of kids belonging to the Cholanaikkan tribal community.

The team had stopped at a restaurant when the elephant attacked the jeep, sources told Bar & Bench.

"He had gone for a talk in Malappuram. After that he was on his way for the inauguration of a camp. He had stopped his vehicle at a restaurant on the way. That is when the attack happened," the source said.

Dr. Sunny has been admitted to a hospital in Perinthalmanna.
