Gujarat Cadre IAS officer PD Vaghela appointed as the Chairperson of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

1986 Batch IAS Officer, PD Vaghela is currently serving as Secretary Pharamacuticles in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.

PD Vaghela, IAS is the new Chairperson of TRAI

A Commerce graduate and a Ph.D in Sociology from Sardar Patel University, Gujarat, he was Additional Secretary Finance in Gujarat and Joint Secretary Shipping in the Central Government.

The Official Appointment is for a period of 3 years i.e. till September 2023.

Current Chairman RS Sharma is scheduled to retire on September 30, 2020, after being the Chairperson of TRAI for the past 5 years, since August 10, 2015.
