PDS & Associates Partner Anish Ghoshal has resigned from the firm to re-join Dua Associates as a Partner in Mumbai. He will co-head the firm’s Mumbai office along with Partner Anil Agarwal, who heads the Banking & Finance practice.

Dua Associates Partner and Head of Communications Shiraz Patodia confirmed to Bar & Bench that Anish will be joining the firm from January 1, 2015.

Anish, who is a graduate of University of Mumbai initially worked with Crawford Bayley, before joining Dua Associates in 1994. He worked at Dua Associates till 2006, after which he joined PDS Legal. Thereafter, he left PDS to set up AM Law along with Mustafa Motiwala, who later merged AM Law with Juris Corp and has now recently moved to Clasis Law.

In 2011, Anish joined PDS & Associates, set up by Sajid Mohamed in 2008, as a Partner.

We have been informed that he left PDS & Associates in March 2014 to join PDA Law and later re-joined PDS & Associates as Salaried Partner in July 2014. He is now leaving the firm again and rejoining Dua Associates, which makes it his third exit this year.

Sajid, when contacted regarding Anish’s decision to leave the firm to rejoin Dua, sounded surprised at Anish’s decision.

It is understood that no other lawyer from PDS & Associates is leaving with Anish.

Anish Ghoshal was not available for comment at the time of publishing the story.
