Penningtons Manches LLP has hired senior corporate lawyer Ajit Mishra to jointly head its India team with partner Rustam Dubash. He replaces Saionton Basu, who had resigned last year to join Duane Morris as a Partner.

Prior to joining Penningtons, Ajit was running his own law firm called ‘City Law Practice’, which also had a mutual referral agreement with UK Headquartered law firm Wragge & Co LLP. Before that, he was heading Fox Mandal’s London office for five years.

Ajit, who is dual qualified to practice in India and England and Wales, started his career at New Delhi Law Offices in Delhi.

Commenting on Ajit’s appointment, Rustam Dubash, said,

“Ajit has carved out a strong reputation for himself both in India and the UK so we are delighted to welcome him to Penningtons Manches. The breadth of his experience, in particular his work supporting inward investment into the UK, makes him a good fit for our practice. His arrival will enable us to reinforce our corporate offering and demonstrates our commitment to the ongoing growth of our team.”
