Singapore Airlines veteran Piyush Gupta has been appointed as Head Counsel of Etihad Airways in the United Arab Emirates.

Gupta specialises in antitrust, aviation and drone law. He was serving as Senior Corporate Counsel at Singapore Airlines since November 2021. He has over two decades of experience in advising clients across Asia on corporate finance, regulatory compliance, competition law, and environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting. His expertise spans multiple jurisdictions, such as Indonesia, the Philippines, India, China, the European Union, the United States and Singapore.

Before joining Singapore Airlines, Gupta was a Partner at RHTLaw Asia and Indian law firm Kochhar & Co, where he led the competition and aviation law practices. He previously served as Head of Aviation & Competition at Ince. His in-house experience includes roles as legal counsel at IndiGo Airlines and Singapore Airlines Cargo.

Gupta holds an LL.M. in International Trade and Antitrust from The George Washington University Law School and postgraduate diplomas in related fields from esteemed institutions. He pursued his LL.B. from Delhi University.
