Prof VK Ahuja takes charge as Vice-Chancellor of NLU Assam

He replaces interim Vice-Chancellor Aparna Ajitsaria at the helm of the University.

After having donned several academic and administrative roles at premier institutions in Delhi, Prof VK Ahuja took charge as Vice-Chancellor of National Law University and Judicial Academy Assam (NLUJAA) as of June 2021.

He replaces interim Vice-Chancellor Aparna Ajitsaria at the helm of the University.

Prof Ahuja completed his LL.B from Meerut University, and went on to do his Masters in Law from University of Delhi. Thereafter, he earned his M.Phil from Jawaharlal Nehru University in 1991 and embarked on his journey as a Research Associate at Faculty of Law, Delhi University. He went on to take up the position of Lecturer at Law Centre- II for a period of four years. Thereafter, he was elevated to the position of Senior Lecturer at Law Centre-II during which time he completed his Ph.D.

He served as Principal at Lovely Institute of Law and then returned to Law Centre–II as an Associate Professor. He was promoted to Professorship in 2010. His areas of interest and expertise are Intellectual Property Laws and Public International Law.

He is also a research guide for LL.M. students and has guided over 30 candidates through their dissertations.
