Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan appointed Chief Justice of Telangana HC [Read Notification]

The Central Government has notified the appointment of Acting Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, Raghvendra Singh Chauhan as its permanent Chief Justice.

A notification issued to this effect today states,

In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Raghvendra Singh Chauhan, Judge of the Telangana High Court, to be the the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.

Justice Chauhan took oath as a judge of the Telangana High Court in November 2018. He has been performing the duties of the Telangana High Court Chief Justice since April this year, following the transfer of erstwhile Chief Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan to the Calcutta High Court.
