Registrations Open for ABI’s Flagship Training Program – Mastering Arbitration: Turn Theory into Practice

The Arbitration Bar of India (ABI) has opened registrations for the first edition of its flagship training program – Mastering Arbitration: Turn Theory into Practice, scheduled to be held on 11th–12th October 2025 at Federation House, Tansen Marg, New Delhi.

The program is exclusively designed to equip arbitration practitioners with essential, hands-on skills required to excel in real-world arbitration proceedings. Participants will engage in immersive sessions led by some of the most prominent names in the field.

This two-day intensive course covers a comprehensive curriculum, featuring:

  • A Masterclass in Arbitration Drafting, with a focus on effective clauses and agreements.

  • Strategic Pleadings in Arbitration, including the drafting of notices, Statements of Claim and Defence.

  • A deep dive into challenges to arbitral awards and the approach of Indian courts to setting-aside proceedings.

  • Persuasive advocacy techniques for effective case presentation during hearings.

  • A practical workshop on cross-examination, complete with a live mock exercise.

Gourab Banerji, Senior Advocate and President of the Arbitration Bar of India, will deliver the opening remarks.

Shashank Garg, Senior Advocate and Secretary of the Arbitration Bar of India will also join in the inaugural address.

Participants will then attend immersive sessions led by leading practitioners, including Anirudh Krishnan (Founding Partner, AK Law Chambers), Binsy Susan (Partner, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas), Ashutosh Kumar (Principal, Anchayil Kumar – Advocates), Abhisaar Bairagi (Partner, Khaitan & Co), and Gauhar Mirza (Partner, Saraf & Partners), among others.

Sameer Jain, Founding Partner, PSL Advocates & Solicitors and North Joint Secretary of the Arbitration Bar of India will deliver the closing remarks at the end of the programme.

Speaking about the initiative, ABI team emphasised,

“Mastering Arbitration aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, empowering practitioners to sharpen their skills in every aspect of the arbitral process.”
