Breaking: Former SBI Chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya to join AZB & Partners

Former SBI Chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya is joining AZB & Partners in Mumbai as a Senior Consultant, according to sources.

We have reached out to AZB Managing Partner Zia Mody for comment.

Arundhati joined SBI in September 1977 as a probationary officer and has held several positions during her career with the bank including working in foreign exchange, treasury, retail operations, human resources and investment banking.

In 2013, she went on to become the first woman to head the bank as Chairman. She retired from SBI last year in October after a four-year stint as Chairman.

She recently joined the board of Reliance Industries as an independent director for five years.

Arundhati is also advisor to private equity firm ChrysCapital Advisors LLP.
