Simmons & Simmons hires Clifford Chance lawyer and GLC grad Amer Siddiqui as Partner

After spending 14 years at the London office of Clifford Chance,

Amer Siddiqui has now moved to Simmons & Simmons London as a Partner in the firm’s Capital Markets team.

He has extensive experience in advising on a variety of domestic and cross-border structured capital markets transactions, asset-backed finance transactions, and securitisations.

Jonathan Hammond, head of the firm’s financial markets group, in the release commented,

“We are delighted to welcome Amer to the firm. Amer brings a wealth of experience to the team as we continue to grow our client offering in this area. We have expanded our international financial markets in this financial year by 18 partners, 5 of which have been within the capital markets practice. This reflects our commitments to growing this practice both in London and further afield”.

A graduate of Government Law College, Mumbai, Siddiqui also holds an LL.M. from George Washington University. After completing his Masters, Siddiqui worked in a judge’s chamber in Washington DC before moving to London to join Clifford Chance in March 2003.

He is qualified to practice law in England & Wales, New York and India.
