The Supreme Court has invited fresh applications for the designation of Senior Advocates.
A notice to this effect has been uploaded on the Court’s official website, setting out the eligibility criteria and timelines for submission.
The Court has clarified that advocates whose applications have not been rejected by the Supreme Court or any High Court within the past two years are eligible to apply. It further stated that advocates whose applications have not been deferred by any court within the last one year may also submit fresh applications.
The notification comes a day after the Court issued revised guidelines governing the process of designation in line with its judgment in Jitender @ Kalla v. State of NCT of Delhi.
