The Telangana Legislative Assembly has passed the Telangana Advocates Protection Bill, 2026, ToI reported.

The law aims to address increasing instances of violence against advocates by providing them with police protection, safeguards against false cases, and a dedicated grievance redressal mechanism.

According to a post on X by State Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Industry & Commerce, and Legislative Affairs Sridhar Babu Duddilla, the Bill was framed following a resolution of the Bar Council of Telangana and inputs from high court bar associations, legal forums, and the legal community.

The post also stated that this legislation would ensure professional safety and security of advocates while strengthening their confidence.
