Sameer Guha, former Trilegal Counsel, who resigned in June 2014, has recently joined Mars International as India Legal Counsel.

Sameer will be managing the legal affairs for Mars International, one of the world’s largest FMCG companies in the chocolate, pet care and snack food space, in the Indian sub-continent.

A graduate of ILS Law College, Pune, Sameer started his career with KR Chawla & Co, where he worked for a year after which he had a brief stint at HSA Advocates for six months, before moving to Trilegal.

He spent almost nine years at Trilegal and was part of the firm’s corporate practice team.

On his decision to move to an in-house role, Sameer said, “I wanted to move in-house to increase and improve my skill sets. It is a very different experience compared to being in a law firm and the exposure to the business side of a company is exciting.”

“On the company itself, I love the products and got an amazing vibe from the team when I met them”, added Sameer.

Recently, Trilegal saw the departure of three counsels including Sameer Guha. The other two are Nidhi Khadria in Mumbai and Sakya Singha Chaudhuri in Delhi, who has already joined HSA Advocates as a Partner.
