Talwar Thakore & Associates (TT&A) has promoted Counsel Rahul Gulati to partnership taking the total number of partners at the firm to four. The promotion will take effect as of April 1, 2014.

Rahul joined TT&A in 2009 from the capital markets and derivatives team at Linklaters, and has been an integral part of the finance practice.

He joined Linklaters in 2001 after graduating from National Law School of India University, Bangalore. He worked there for almost eight years before moving back to India to join TT&A.

Sonali Mahapatra, Partner at TT&A in the release said, “This promotion highlights our continued focus on the finance and regulatory practices and our intention to continue to enhance the breadth and depth of expertise we offer our clients.”

“Rahul is a valuable addition to the partnership and we all look forward to working with him in ensuring that the firm retains its market leading position on financing transactions and regulatory advice,” added Sonali.

Last year, TT&A Partner Narayan Iyer had left the firm to rejoin Linklaters after almost spending four years with TT&A.

TT&A and Vinod Dhall, former Chairman of the Competition Commission of India (CCI) had also signed a collaboration agreement last year to combine Vinod Dhall’s competition law practice with TT&A’s corporate and finance practice.
