Delhi HC judges, Tushar Mehta and Vivek Reddy among those nominated to NLU Delhi Governing Council [Read Notification]

Mehta and Reddy have been nominated to the Council as the two pre-eminent persons in the legal and educational fields.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and Advocate Vivek Reddy are among those who have been nominated to the Governing Council of the National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi).

Mehta and Reddy have been nominated to the Council by Chancellor of the University, Delhi High Court Chief Justice DN Patel, as the two pre-eminent persons in the legal and educational fields.

Vivek Reddy is a graduate of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore, who went on to pursue further studies at the Harvard Law School. He practices before the Andhra Pradesh High Court and the Supreme Court of India.

The notification dated June 30, 2020

As per the notification issued on June 30, former Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University Professor Upendra Baxi and former member of the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission Dr Gurram Sujatha have been nominated as the two pre-eminent persons in the disciplines of social sciences and humanities on the Council.

The two sitting judges of the Delhi High Court appointed to the Governing Council as per the NLU Delhi Act are Justices Hima Kohli and Rajiv Sahai Endlaw. Justice (retd) Chander Shekhar has been appointed as the former Delhi High Court judge on the Council.
