Vijay Sondhi Foundation announces inaugural edition of Vijay Sondhi Memorial Legal Writing Championship

The Vijay Sondhi Foundation has announced the inaugural edition of the Vijay Sondhi Memorial Legal Writing Championship.

Established by Ajay Sondhi, with the support of Avinash K. Sharma, as a tribute to his elder brother, Late Shri Vijay K. Sondhi, the Vijay Sondhi Foundation carries forward his commitment to the pursuit of justice.

The Foundation aims to encourage legal writing, support young lawyers and law students, and create opportunities for emerging voices in the legal profession.

As part of the Vijay Sondhi Memorial Legal Writing Championship , outstanding entries will be recognised with cash rewards.

For advocates with less than 5 years of experience, prizes are set at ₹25,000 for 1st place, ₹15,000 for 2nd place, and ₹5,000 for 3rd place.

For 4th and 5th year law students, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place rewards are ₹5,100, ₹4,100, and ₹3,100 respectively.

The topic for the inaugural edition of the championship is "The Present Law on Pre-Institution Mediation: Scope, Efficacy, and the Test to Determine Urgency for Exemption under Section 12A of the Commercial Courts Act"

Participants must send their articles by 30th November, 2025.
