Vikram Chauhan appointed as additional judge of Allahabad High Court

Along with Chauhan, 12 other lawyers were recommended for elevation as High Court judges, out of which 9 are now cleared.

The Central government has notified the appointment of Vikram Chauhan as an additional judge of the Allahabad High Court.

The appointment has been made in view of the Supreme Court Collegium recommendation pursuant to a meeting held on August 24 this year. Along with Chauhan, 12 other lawyers were recommended for elevation as High Court judges, out of which 9 are now cleared.

The Centre recently notified the appointment of eight lawyers as additional judges of Allahabad High Court.

With these new appointments, the working strength of the High Court increases to 100 judges, as against 60 vacancies.
