Wife, Son of Additional Sessions Judge shot at by PSO in Gurugram [Video]

The wife and son of an Additional Sessions Judge of Gurugram were shot at by the personal security officer (PSO) of the Judge on Saturday afternoon, according to media reports.

The gunman, identified as Mahipal Singh who was posted with the Judge Krishan Kant Sharma for over a year, has been arrested by the Gurugram Police, ANI reported.

The victims were rushed to the hospital after the incident and according to news reports, the situation of the son remains critical while the wife is now out of danger.

The incident took place in Sector 49, Gurugram in a busy marketplace before a number of eyewitnesses when the assailant was accompanying the Judge’s 38-year-old wife and 18-year-old son for shopping near Arcadia Market. According to an eye-witness account, the gunman used his service revolver for the attack, reported NDTV.

According to this report by NDTV, the Police have said that they are interrogating Mahipal to determine the reason for his shooting while the prima facie investigation suggests that he was upset with the conduct and behaviour of the Judge’s family.

The Police reportedly believe that Mahipal was suffering from acute depression and was mentally disturbed.
