Bar & Bench

Inderpreet Sawhney has been appointed as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Infosys Limited.

Sawhney, who is General Counsel at Wipro, is expected to join Infosys next month at the rank of executive vice-president, as first reported by VCCircle. The report also states that Wipro’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jatin Dalal will take additional charge as interim General Counsel.

Former Infosys GC David Kennedy was sacked by the company in December last year.

Sawhney started my career with law firm Remfry & Sagar, where she spent about six months. She later made the switch to in-house with ITC where she worked for five years. After that, she moved to the US and worked for The Chugh Firm in Silicon Valley for nearly fourteen years. She then decided to move back to India and join Wipro as General Counsel in 2011.
