National Capital Law Journal is a blind peer-reviewed Journal published annually by the Law Centre II, University of Delhi, Delhi since 1996 with the objective of promoting academic research and fostering debate on contemporary legal issues in India.

It is not restricted to any particular field of law, and includes legal as well as policy related current issues, both national and international. It is a faculty run Journal whose primary objective is to serve as an important academic forum to legal fraternity. The publication of NCLJ is an earnest attempt to provide an effective research tool by sparking scholastic conversation among a diverse group of academicians, judges, jurists, practitioners, students, activists, scholars and prominent thinkers.

The submissions may be made on any contemporary area in the field of law and legal education.

Submission Guidelines

The National Capital Law Journal invites original, unpublished manuscripts from all academicians, judges, and legal professionals from India and abroad, under the following categories:

Long Articles (8000-10000 words, including footnotes)

This category is designed to comprehensively deal with and provide a sustained analysis of a particular legal topic, identifying lacunae therein and suggesting solutions to the problem.

Short Articles (4000-6000 words, including footnotes)

The Journal includes short works to provide an opportunity for the members of the legal fraternity to keep abreast of new ideas and legal reforms. In this category, a more comprehensive study of a narrow topic is involved, and the issues must be addressed from a new perspective providing a critical insight on the subject.

Short Note & Case Comment: (2000 – 3000 words including footnotes)

An important feature of the Review is ‘Notes and Comments’. A note is a concise argument focusing on any recent legal controversy or debate. A comment is limited to critical appraisal of a recent judicial decisions, new legislation (enacted or proposed), or policy reform proposals.

General Instructions

Submissions should be in Times New Roman, font size 12 with 1.5 line spacing, justified text and 1-inch margins on all sides of the A4 sheet. (Page number) Footnotes should be in Times New Roman, font size 10 with 1.0 line spacing.

Endnotes are not allowed.

All headings must have uniform formatting.

The first page of the manuscript should only contain the title of the paper. The main body of the manuscript must begin from the second page.

Submissions must be emailed at ncljlc22021@gmail.com (in .docx format) along with a covering letter. The covering letter should include the following details:

Name of the author(s);

Designation of the author(s);

Institutional Affiliation;

Contact numbers(s);

Title of the paper;

Type of Submission;

A declaration to the effect that the submission is original and has not been previously published or currently under review at any other journal/conference/book etc. and should not be submitted to any other journal/conference while in process of review with us.

Co-authorship up to 2 co-authors are allowed for Long Articles and Short Articles.

Co-authorship is not allowed for Notes and Comments.

Any form of plagiarism will lead to disqualification for publication in the Review. All footnotes/references in the submission must conform to the ILI footnoting format. All submissions must be made in .doc or docx format. No pdf format shall be entertained. Copyright over the published material shall vest with Law Centre-II ONLY.

In order to ensure transparency in the blind review process, the name of the author or institutional affiliation must not be mentioned anywhere in the manuscript. All submissions will undergo a rigorous editorial process devised to hone and strengthen tone and substance.

Submissions of the Papers have to be made via email to ncljlc22021@gmail.com with the subject as “Submission of Research Paper”.

Deadline for submissions is May 15, 2022, 11:59 p.m. IST.
