Dr. Malay Patel is currently the Dean of the United World School of Law, Gandhinagar. In this interview with our Campus Ambassador Vivan jhaveri, Dr. Patel shares his thoughts on legal education, the importance of studying law, and more.

How has Unitedworld School of Law adapted to the Covid pandemic?

We have started functioning virtually for everything - classes, conduction of exams, academic programmes including Moot Competitions, legal aid activity, Webinars etc.

What do you enjoy most about teaching law?

I, being a management faculty get minimal chances to deal with laws involved in the subjects of BBA. But yes, it’s fun to teach technical subjects when the students are keen to study more legal dimensions.

Who was the one law teacher who has had the greatest influence on you?

I had an opportunity to follow Prof. N.R.Madhva Menon and his ideology regarding modern education has always remained inspirational for me.

Why do you think one should study law?

Studying law not only makes one aware of his/her rights but builds a responsible citizen of world.
