“Unus Unorum” meaning “First among equals” a student’s initiated socio legal magazine committed to advance people’s human rights by building leadership and strengthening youth led movements..The magazine further seeks to enable young people’s ability to influence and create policies to strengthen their rights..The idea was generated and nourished by the students of Dr Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow – Namit Saxena co- founder & editor in chief, Pratik Chandra co- founder & assistant editor and Prateek Shankar Srivastava marketing head, with the help of Advocate K.K Raizada.Unus Unorum primarily focuses on awareness and advocacy, community work and technical/skills literary development. The three young students have planned to work unidirectional with a clear aim to acknowledge original articles and help in nourishment of a healthy progressive society. Their work reaches out through publication of articles, photographs, visual arts and other skill building projects..Its exclusive focus over the next 2 years is committed to building and engaging with people to create stronger, constructive and practical social impact..Unus Unorum was founded in September, 2011 and in a short span has very successfully received enormous support and recognition from young people, multiple donors, government, companies, organizations and community stakeholders..Unus Unorum had its first official release on October 17, 2011, at UK India Policy Dialogue on innovations in higher educational management seminar organized by British Council held at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow..The grand release was inaugurated by Prof. M.C.Sharma (Vice Chancellor Central university of Haryana, Former Vice Chairman UGC and Former Director NLIU Bhopal), Dr. Pegram Harrison (Oxford University), Prof. A Chaube (Head Department of Education, Lucknow University), Manjula Rao (Head Programmes West India, British Council Division), Prof. Kripa Shanker (Vice Chancellor, G.B.Technical University, UP), Prof. B. Hanumaiah (Vice Chancellor, Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar Central university, Lucknow) and Prof. R P Singh (President HERF, Former Vice Chancellor, Lucknow University).Being a platform confronting socio-legal issues prevailing in the contemporary world, the first issue aimed at encouraging quality research amongst students and professionals having different perspective towards the socio – legal world..Unus Unorum is presently gearing itself up with its second edition to be released in the month of December, 2011 and invites original contributions from students and professionals with its deadline being November 20, 2011 mailed at unusmagazine@gmail.com.
