Jamia Millia Islamia emerges as semi-finalists in 16th All India Moot Court Competition, 2022

Jamia Millia Islamia University finished as Semi-Finalists in the 16 All India Moot Court Competition, 2022 conducted by Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram, which was held on 10-12 March 2022.

The subject matter of the moot was related to Constitutional and Family Law.

A team comprising of Md Rasikh Raza Pahalwi, Shantanu Agnihotri, and Abdul Sattar represented the university.

A team member Md Rasikh Raza Pahalwi, was also awarded the 'Best Student Advocate' in the competition.

Speaking to the Apprentice Lawyer Md Rasikh Raza Pahalwi exclaimed, “I actually feel elated to share that, we as a team landed up being the Semi-Finalists in the 16th All India Moot Court Competition, Conducted by GLC, Thiruvananthapuram. And even bagged the 'Best Student Advocate' Award, and to have achieved this feat itself makes me grateful. Kudos to my teammates. I am looking forward to furthering my skills and exploring upcoming Moots. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for me.”

Speaking to Apprentice Lawyer Shantanu Agnihotri exclaimed, “A well-drafted memorial is always the key to performing exceptionally in a moot court competition. We traced the origins of the Hindu Succession Act, 1956, and analyzed its evolution with the dynamic society while it was being challenged at the touchstone of various provisions of the Constitution. Looking forward to performing on a similar intersection and acclaim triumph.”

The team said that this victory would not have been possible without the help of their seniors and professors who helped them immensely for the competition.
