Know Your Campus Ambassador: Sushant Kumar, RMLNLU

Over the last two years, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students have been providing us with information on campus events and activities, and also sharing legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Sushant Kumar, a third-year student at the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University.

Why did you choose to study law?

Fortunately, my answer is the same every time I have been asked this question. I am from a science background and loved the subjects. Nonetheless, law intrigued me in a way no subject ever did. I see it as a means to my ultimate goal of public service. I believed it would bring me closer to the concepts of governance and social change.

What made you apply for the Campus Ambassador post at Bar & Bench?

I applied after coming across an advertisement for it. I thought that it would be an excellent opportunity to get an insight into legal journalism and know fellow students across various universities/colleges. I believe I'd be a more informed person due to being part this initiative.

What are your plans after completing law?

I've always maintained that I should not fixate on one option. I would probably take this decision in my penultimate year of law school. However, litigation/civil services are my current preferences.
