A chicken-pox endemic has broken out at the campus of the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS) Kolkata. Students have been asked to vacate the hostels as a precautionary measure.

According to sources, around 10 students have been affected by the disease.

Speaking to Bar & Bench, Vice-Chancellor Prof Ishwara Bhat confirmed the news.

He said,

“Classes have been suspended from today till the 20th of this month.”

As per a message circulated amongst the NUJS student body, hostels will be fumigated over the next two days and hence students should vacate the hostels within twenty-hour hours. The message also says that although there will be additional classes to make up for lost time, there will be no change in the exam schedule.
