A monologue or a mere lecture series is not good enough for any kind of learning. Fancy presentations, well prepared lecture notes, beautiful articulation, citing endless judicial precedents and simple Q&A sessions have always been considered to be the most effective way of teaching law. We believe in changing this construct for real. Not because we intend to merely innovate but we want to take initiatives in imparting “quality legal education” especially for law students and young lawyers. We are committed to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and expectations of the employer and /or client. We strongly believe, that “participatory learning” is the key to bring this change!
To take things forward, for the first time, we are launching the following online certificate courses for the law students and young lawyers:
Sports Law in India
Understanding Commerical Contracts
Understanding Private Equity Investments in India
These are not run-of-the-mill online courses.
Why are we different?
Learning will primarily be through engagement with the participants. Each learning module will be conducted through naturally moderated sessions. We intend to facilitate a process of collective analysis and learning. It’s a fun way to learn law. We have been testing this approach for sometime now in our classroom sessions. Results have been fabulous. For the very first time, we are going online.
All the sessions will be moderated through live video interactive streaming.
A session will not have more than 15 participants. We understand that this may be strenuous on us as we will have to do the same session with several batches during the day. But we are happy to do so, to make sure we deliver what we are promising. Merely a good reach is not our aim. We believe that more than 15 participants becomes a traditional classroom approach and we will always shy away from that.
There’s no prior reading required. No expectation of note taking. What we discuss is what what we learn.
We will not be sharing the recorded video sessions with any of the participants. They have to attend all the live video sessions. However, we will be available to clarify doubts that the participants may have during and even after the completion of the course. We are just an email away!
Participants will be assessed on the basis of their participation in sessions and exercises which we will be providing during the term of the course.
At the end of the course, we will be conducting a one-on-one feedback session with each participant over a video call.
