The Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University, Lucknow (RMLNLU) has placed 50 students out of the 100 students who sat for recruitment from the Class of 2013. The total batch strength of the Class of ’13 is 140. In addition to the 50 students who were placed in various organisations, 8 students have secured judicial clerkships in the Supreme Court, bringing the total number of students placed to 58.
Out of the 50 placements, 8 were in the form of PPOs while 9 placements were made off-campus. Quislex remains the single biggest employer, hiring 12 students this year (up from 10 hires made last year) while Pangea3 picked up 4 students (as compared to 5 in 2012). The remaining placements are from firms/companies that did not make any hires last year.
The University’s Recruitment Coordination Cell, which consisted of RMLNLU students Rajat Pradhan, Danish Khan, Divye Bahadur, Dhruv Matta, and Yash Tandon did not utilise the services of Vahura this year. In the press release issued by the RCC, the students noted that they were “fairly satisfied” with the placements thus far. Danish Khan, a member of the RCC, acknowledged the fact that the high number of PPOs and off-campus placements were a result of the slowly growing alumni base.
With respect to higher studies, 16 students have received offers from various institutes including Kings College, London, National University of Singapore, and the School of Oriental and African Studies, London University.
