The graduating Class of 2016 at NLSIU Bangalore saw 75% of its recruiting class placed following the Day Zero held yesterday. A total of forty-eight students sat for recruitment, and a total of 33 were placed. In addition, four students received vacation schemes, two from HSF and one each from Allen & Overy, and Linklaters.
Khaitan & Co was the biggest hirer this year, with seven hires of which four were PPO’s. The firm, which touched a hundred Partners this year, is offering one of the highest starting salaries this year. As reported by Bar & Bench, the firm is offering more than 16 lakhs per annum.
AZB & Partners has hired six, with Amarchand (Bombay) picking up another six and Luthra & Luthra hiring five.
An email statement released by the RCC held,
As the RCC, we are delighted with the recruitment figures after Day Zero. Given that numerous people in our batch are also aspiring to jobs outside of law firms, the current percentage of people recruited is very satisfactory with respect to the total numbers sitting for Day Zero.
