The Chairperson Jayanthi Natarajan (pictured) of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice said, “The Committee is looking into the possibility of providing a stipend to young people pursuing law. The Committee is already studying the conditions under which young lawyers were working”.
Natarajan conveyed this to the new batch of 930 advocates at an enrolment function organised at the Tamilnadu High Court reports the Tamilnadu News.
She added on to say, “Lawyers had a very special place in the country’s democratic set-up, and they must protect the interests of their clients and uphold the dignity of law. You must always remember your duty to your country, client and profession.
Natarajan added that lawyers today, need to apply the latest technological advancements in their profession.
This is good news for the law grads wanting to make a mark in the profession, but don’t have enough means to even meet their daily needs.
