Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advises University of New South Wales on setting up campus in Bengaluru

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas has advised the University of New South Wales on establishing its first campus in India in Bengaluru.

The University of New South Wales, holding a QS World Universities Ranking of 19 and the highest-ranked Australian University, has been granted a Certificate of Registration from the University Grants Commission.

The CAM transaction team was led by Ketaki Mehta (Partner - GIFT City), with support from Jinisha Motwani (Senior Associate), Hridaykrishna Motwani (Senior Associate), and Sakshi Nathani (Associate).

Aarushi Jain (Partner, Head - Media, Education & Gaming) and Pooja Kapadia (Partner), with support from Diksha Arora (Senior Associate), Maya Venkiteswaran (Associate), and Ridhima Lohia (Associate), advised on data and Intellectual Property related aspects of the transaction and, along with the transaction team, advised on the Education (UGC regulatory) aspects.

Abe Abraham (Partner), with support from Akshat Sahajpal (Principal Associate) and Abhilash Tyagi (Senior Associate), advised on employment related aspects of the transaction.

Manasvini Raj (Partner), with support from Pratima Barde (Associate), advised on fit-outs and design contracts.

Yash Jain (Partner), with support from Ayush Chowdhury (Principal Associate), advised on the facility agreement related aspects of the transaction.

Opening in August 2026, UNSW Bengaluru will offer world-class education with programs such as the Bachelor of Business, the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, the Bachelor of Data Science and Decisions, the Master of Cyber Security, and the Bachelor of Media in Public Relations & Advertising.
