JSA, SAM, Ropes lead on Baring PE acquisition of NIIT Tech for 2,627 crores

Baring Private Equity Asia (BPEA) is buying about 30% stake in mid-sized IT services firm NIIT Technologies from NIIT Ltd and other promoter entities for about ₹2,627 crore and make an open offer thereafter to increase it stake up to 56% for total consideration ₹4,890 crore.

J. Sagar Associates acted for BPEA and the team was led by Partners Vikram Raghani and Anand Lakra, along with Senior Associate Abhilash Chandran, Associates Ami Shah, Khamir Kamdar, Parshva Doshi and Urmika Agarwal.

Partners Anish Mashruwala and Utsav Johri and Principal Associate Pallavi Banerjee advised on the financing aspect of the deal.

Partners Amitabh Kumar and Vaibhav Choukse and Associate Zenia Cassinath advised on certain competition aspects of the deal.
