Khaitan & Co advises President of India on ₹5,549 crore Coal India share sale

The President of India, acting through the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, has made an offer for sale of 123,279,566 equity shares of Coal India Limited through the stock exchange mechanism, aggregating to approximately ₹5,549 crore.

Khaitan & Co advised the seller, the President of India, on this transaction.

The transaction team consisted of Madhur Kohli (Partner) and Avinash Gautam (Senior Associate).

Axis Capital Limited, ICICI Securities Limited, JM Financial Institutional Securities Limited, Kotak Securities Limited and SBICAP Securities Limited acted as brokers to the offer.
