Justice Ruma Pal is one of the most well-known judges in the history of the Supreme Court. Elevated as a judge of the Calcutta High Court in 1990, she was eventually elevated to the Supreme Court in 2000 where she served for six years. In this interview with Bar & Bench, Justice Pal talks about her early days as a student in Shantiniketan, on being the only woman in Nagpur’s College of Law and how the Indian judiciary ought to change.
